As part of the Just Transition, there is a strong demand for wetland restoration, including peatlands. To support contractors and businesses that may want to get involved in wetland restoration, training events designed for machine operators and contractors to better understand restoration theory and techniques are being facilitated by Tóchar Midlands Wetland Restoration Scheme and the Crichton Carbon Centre.
Tóchar are pleased to offer this practical training opportunity for Contractors and Machine Operators, taking place from Monday 5 October to Thursday 9 October.
Please note, there will be a pre-training session online, on Tuesday 29 September 7-8pm. Once your place has been confirmed, you will receive an email with more details of how to join.
The training events will combine theory, practical restoration techniques and demonstrations at restoration sites, including raised and blanket bogs. The aim is to build practical knowledge and confidence in delivering high-quality peatland restoration works, with a particular focus on the role of machinery and operators on site.
You don’t need to attend every day. Please select:
- One Peatland Restoration Theory & Techniques Day
- One Demonstration Day (or both, if relevant to your work)
You can attend the sessions in any order.
